Matthew Wallace

Matthew Wallace is the owner of Matthew’s Restaurant in Negril, Jamaica. His family’s deep roots in the hospitality industry prepared a path for him in the field of business. He attended Florida International University where he had his first taste for a passion for culinary arts, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management. He worked as Front Office Manager with Marriott in Florida, but his heart always belonged in Jamaica. With his newfound knowledge and experience, he moved back to Jamaica and became the General Manager for the Jungle Night Club in Negril.  While managing the club at nights Matthew became a farmer by day, rearing livestock as well as growing crops. He continued on his fiery path co-founding Scotch Boyz Jamaica Ltd, and was appointed CEO. Matthew also plays an active role in fundraising activities  for upgrading and enhancement of Negril and its beaches.

Matthew also sits on the board of The Boardwalk Village which owns and operates a boutique hotel and a shopping plaza in Negril. Despite all these roles, Matthew maintains his passion for nature and the outdoors as an avid nature photographer. As a Director of the NCTFJ, he seeks to share knowledge of his sector and assist in building partnerships to ensure Jamaica’s protected areas and cultural assets are managed sustainably.
